GSA Foundation

Teacher Advocate Program

Teacher thinkingRecognizing that the future of geology rests in the hands of our nations’ school teachers is the fundamental building block of the TAP program. GSA’s TAP provides easy-to-use, curriculum-linked and exciting geoscience teaching resources in a variety of topics to educators across the USA and beyond, developed by educators with classroom teaching experience. It also provides activities through which teachers experience the importance, relevance, and wonder of geoscience via first-hand contact in the field (Teacher GeoVentures™) or laboratory and at science teacher convention workshops around the country.
